Today is inspired by Grey Skies and Sunshine Yellow.

OK so I know a lot of you are thinking grey and yellow for a wedding, how draining how boring let those colours bring you up. Today's bride is sophisticated and not afraid of drama and this colour combination is all about drama. When I first started working on this design I was not so sure of the colour but then I started doing some research, for me grey = silver = platinum. There are so many shades of grey that for me it was hard to choose which shade to use.

It's all about L.O.V.E. and the colour Grey and Yellow

Vintage Memories Using Flowers Made from Used Dryer Sheets

Preserving Memories for the Next Generation



I am not sure if it is the passing of my grandmother last week or this absolutely beautiful photo of her that got me thinking it would be nice to preserve a memory of her. So much time has passed during her life, I mean she was born 1910, she lived through World War I as a child and then depression. She married and raised her children alone during World War II with a husband overseas.

So many things were invented during this time:

1912: Lifesavers candy introduced

1913: the modern brassiere and crossword puzzle are invented
1915: Pyrex invented

1917: modern zipper invented
1919: short-wave radio invented

1920: Band-Aid invented

1921: 1st robot designed

1922: insulin invented

Flowers Made From Dryer Sheets

Lately I have been trying new things and one of these has been reusing and recycling left over packaging soup bowls and one project I am dying to do is a coffee cup scrapbook. It amazes me what people can create using something as simple as left over dryer sheets, yes you heard it dryer sheets. Who would have thought such a beautiful thing can be created using a few simple supplies. I mean all those sheets I have "recycled" threw the year could have been turned into such a beautiful thing.

Tools and Supply

1. Recycled dryer sheets (after they have been through the dryer).
2. Glimmer mists. (I made my own using Stampin' Up Classic Ink Refills)
3. Shimmer Paint Frosted White (2 tiny scoops mixed with tap water in a Mini Mister)
4. BigShot Bigz L Die Fun Flowers from the new Occasions Mini Catalogue
5. Chunky Essentials Silver
6. Crystal Effects
7. Misc flower
8. Heat gun

Step-By-Step Instructions

Creating the Flower:

1. Using the BigShot and Fun Flowers die and your two clear cutting pads use as many sheets as you wish depending on how big or full you wish your flower to be. I did approx 6 dryer sheets and it cut perfectly.
2. Next you will want to die each flower, for mine I did two, one was using just a shimmer spray and for the other I used Bermuda Bay. Let them dry completely on paper towel. You may also use a paper towel to blot the excess liquids.
3. Next using a circle punch based on the size of the flower (I used the 1 3/4 circle punch) punch a piece of card stock (for mine I used Bermuda Bay). Using a glue gun and a small amount of glue scrunch together and glue down continue using a white then Bermuda Bay, remembering to shift each flower off side to give more depth. Using the die Fun Flowers allows you to create a complete flower, with different size pieces.
4. I then dotted the flower with crystal effects and sprinkled with Silver Chunky Essentials.
5. Last but not least I added another flower in the middle to cover the center.

Farwell to a Wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great Grama and Great Great Grama

Today I will not be posting a Sneak Peak but will be honouring the passing of my grandmother Cecilia (Moore) Dunse. Born in 1910, Manawaki, Quebec. She lived a full life marrying my Grandfather Earl Dunse and celebrated many happy married years until his death in 1993. She raised two out of four children during the Second World War, and later another daughter and son, 4 children in all. She will be sadly missed by 13 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

She now joins my grandfather, cousin Gail, my sister Karen and cousin Vaughan.

We will be celebrating her life today with a small wake and funeral, followed by a service in the chapel.

The following are some pictures that I had which I would love to share with you.

2011 Sneak Peak No. 3 - Tweet Love

Tweet Love for the 2 of You!

Today's sneak peak is inspired by the word "Fresh".

Have you ever notice how wonderful navy pairs with green? Whether you use cream or white as an accent it always looks fresh and clean.

Many brides today are going green by decorate or accenting tables with green apples, pears and even grasses. Even using fresh limes as fillers in vases, instead of glass beads giving that simple punch of colour.

For flowers one of my favorites to decorate with whether a wedding or just at home during Christmas are hydrangea's, and lots of them. Whether you stick with a simple pallet of white and cream or accent with even some green there is something about a vase filled with three or four stems of these large flowers that makes a centerpiece standout.

This colour pallet is Night of Navy, Very Vanilla, Pear Pizazz. Clean crisp and of course "Fresh".
