THE ART OF TEA - CHINA 2013

Tea for Two or Three or More...

I have to say another one of my favorite things I did while in China was tea tasting, yet another tourist thing but it was fun and amazing to see how different combinations of tea have amazing healing powers.

Many of these tourist spots are little hidden away areas you couldn’t find on your own unless you had a guide. I was absolutely amazed by the different senses and tastes. The following are some of the images that I took, during our instruction. I love the contrast with the glass and the tea leaves and the wood. I couldn't stop taking pictures!

NOTE: I also loved the paper bags they used when you bought tea (yes I bought some tea, a black tea and a flowering tea both of which are delicious) I was able to get a few of which I took apart to use on future pages.

STARBUCKS - CHINA 2013

Nothing keeps me from my coffee...

Coffee* in China was so wonderful and I don't mean the Starbucks but the hotels we stayed at were amazing, both in services and food. We did stay at 5 star hotels so you will expect this however; the attention to detail was amazing!

One of the things that we had fun doing was spot the Starbucks; I couldn't believe for such a Communist country that there were so many big name companies in China. One of the things that I did was to collect coffee mugs from each major city you know the ones that are themed with the cities name. And they even have different gift cards, there's are made of coated paper and they let me have two so I could scrap on this page along with instructions on how to make a good cup of Joe. Everything in Chinese of course which made it even better and unique.

I loved the outside of this particular Starbucks that I took a photo; I love this page for the colors and especially the memories.

* I will talk about the tea later in my posts

SWEET LITTLE MAN - CHINA 2013

CHINA 2013 - SCRAPBOOKING

I love to travel and I have a very large bucket list of places that I want to see in my lifetime. Last year I went to China with a group of wonderful people some of whom I have met in Italy a few years ago and some who are now part of my traveling family. These trips are specific adventures that including Ali Edwards and her philosophy of Telling Your Own story

This month I will be sharing pages that I created from this trip using various lines such as Crate Paper, Echo Park, Stampin Up, October Afternoon just to name a few.

Join me on this trip of a life time through my eyes.

White Emperor City (Baidi City)

A few miles into Fenjie County, on the northern bank of the Yangtze River is Baidi City (White Emperor City), also called Baidi Temple. It is located on Baidi Mountain at the mouth of Qutang Gorge, one of the Three Gorgers of the Yangtze River.

This little guy was at one of the markets we passed on our way to a Baidi Temple, he was so adorable and loved having his picture taken.

I love to stamp on many of my images it adds a uniqueness to the image and makes it even more part of the page. Layering is a big part of my designs, I like mixing textures and colors and of course you need something shiny, sequence is an important embellishment and cheap way of adding bling.

What are you favorite embellishments to use on your pages? Do you like to go outside of the box, for me I like picking up different items on the trip that I can add to pages later such as labels, business cards, bags and papers or playing cards.
