FLASHBACK FRIDAY'S - Asian Scrap booking Page

In approximately 27 days I will be heading on an adventure that I can't believe that I am doing. I am going to China, Beijing to be exact and I am thrilled and a little weary seeing I am totally going out of my comfort zone and travelling the first leg alone. Ya Ya I hear you suck it you say what an adventure and your right however the thought of being so far away in a socialist country were you squat to pee makes this princess a little ah freaked out. But I know I will have the best time ever, and I am meeting up with some of my familia from Italy 2011, and even better I get to spend time with Ali Edwards! A women that I so admire, for her creativity, her strength, her love of her children, for her kindness to us mere want-a-be's.

This weeks Flashback is a page I did using Kaiser Kraft another line I love to use and of course Stampin Up.

Good morning, today's post has nothing to do with Christmas but everything to do with pattern, texture and colour.

I love anything Asian, especially when it comes to type/fonts and of course paper. I love the colours in this particular paper and of course with Stampin' Up I was able to co-ordinate what I have already which makes scrap booking so simple.

I love how the type/font works as a texture in the background but also works well as a stand alone. I haven't decided what photo I am going to use for this page yet but I am sure that a black and white or even a sepia will do the trick!

This weekend I have so much going on from getting ready for my trip to Italy; to my Open House this Sunday at 1 pm (stop by if your in the area); to attending a 12 Hour Crop. FLASHBACK FRIDAY'S - Colour Inspiration Challenge #45

Not Just About Absence of Colour

I would like to take a moment this week and thank everyone who left a message regarding last weeks challenge I was honoured and deeply thrilled by your responses. Thank you Thank you Thank you!

Little Tidbit for this week

This week I thought I would put a little spin on the challenge for me and expand my brain by doing a google search on famous people whose last names begin with Black, Grey and White. So here are the results:

Black, Joseph 1728-1799. British chemist who rediscovered carbon dioxide (1756) and formulated the concepts of latent heat and specific heat.

Grey, Lady Jane 1537-1554. Queen of England for nine days (1553). Proclaimed queen on the death of Edward VI (July 10, 1553), she was imprisoned after her short reign, replaced by the popular Mary Tudor, later Mary I, and subsequently beheaded for treason.

White, E (lwyn) American writer and humorist who contributed essays, editorials, and parodies to the New Yorker. He also wrote children's books, including Charlotte's Web (1952), and revised a 1918 writing manual, The Elements of Style (1959).

Each week Kristina Werner posts a new colour inspiration on her blog and they are truly inspiring. Here is my entry for colour inspiration #45 what I like to call "Getting Back to Basics". This card was inspired by the stamp set 5th Avenue Floral and the new Textured Impressions Manhattan Flower plus the new Designer Hardware Basic Small Grommets all from Stampin Up. If you don't have these yet make it part of your next order as it is fantastic and great for wedding invitations see here. Anyway here it goes, please let me know what you think!

MDS (My Digital Studio) - Scrapbooking My Trip to Italy MDS style!

Where Has the Time Gone

With my trip to China getting closer and closer I am reflecting on my last trip with Ali Edwards to Italy and all the beautiful pictures and places I have been but have still not scrap booked. I am feeling so guilty because I know that other people have done their books and they look fabulous and mine not so good.

Yes I am still working on scrap booking my trip to Italy circa 2011. I am so ashamed, it isn't like I don't have any paper, stamps embellishments etc etc. I mean my friends call my place the store. But I have gotten lost in so many other things that it is time for a kick in butt. So I have decided along with the traditional way of scrap booking I am going to do digital pages too. From now until I leave for China I will posting scrap book pages of my trip to Italy using of course Stampin Up's MDS. Seriously it is super easy and isn't cheating.

The following is Vernazza a town and comune located in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northwestern Italy. It is one of the five towns that make up the Cinque Terre region. And a most amazing place to visit.

We had been there less than a week before the big flood that destroyed the town, covered with mud from a terrible slide.

OCTOBER AFTERNOON - Mini Book Using Travel Girl

Travelling to China in November

For those of you who don't know I will be travelling to China on a tour with Ali Edwards and I am beyond excited! I have been waiting for this tour for so long and in less than 8 weeks I will be flying to San Fran to meet up with the group for “The Ultimate CHINA Tour”.

This isn't my first tour with Ali but my second two years ago I went to Italy, for approx two weeks of absolute bliss! Not only did I fill a dream of visiting Italy but I got to meet and spend time with Ali two things off my bucket list! I also made so many new friends that I call them my Italian familia from around the world. Most of us have stayed in contact via Facebook and many have gotten together over the past two years for reunions or just a little girl time.

For my trip to Italy I journalled the entire trip but found after awhile when I tried to assemble my scrapbook of the trip it was very time consuming and I lost my mojo at the same time. For my trip to China I am doing mini books, taking mini pics and writing/creating during my trip. So when I return I have something to inspire me!

The following is my first mini using OCTOBER AFTERNOON'S Travel Girl, I absolutely love this line and bought EVERYTHING that came with it. It has to be one of my all time favourites for colour, fun theme, inspiration, and just plan funny.
