Odds and Ends with a Friday Sketch to Boot from Scrap n Stamp Canada

Hello Friday!

Odds and Ends

Hard to believe that we are close to the end of September, frankly where has the month gone? For me as you all know it has been packing and more packing. But the end is near tomorrow is the official moving day, and our first night in the new house so we are very excited. Frankly all I want is the bed up clean sheets and nothing but sweet dreams to think about. Over the next 2 weeks I am going to try and do a daily diary, of how things are going with pictures, so you can see the changes happening or well maybe not. So stay tuned for more fun in Carleton Place!

Scrap'n Stamp Canada Thank You Card and Mini Gift Bag

Happy Thursday!

Today is the big day that we sign all the paper work for our new house and we are so excited. The move is now taking shape and is really happening. Currently we are surrounded by numerous boxes, packing papers, seriously it is crazy. And my studio is a disaster, I have been working hard at well not packing it it seems but that will end this weekend, with our moving.

Isn't it wonderful that when something as big as a move happens that people just pitch in and help. There have been so many wonderful friends helping us that my next project for
Scrap'n Stamp Canada turned into a combination Thank You card and mini gift bag. The colours were inspired by rich jewel tones and beautiful waterlilies. the mini gift bag is just perfect for chocolates, or a small token of thanks for anyone that has touched your life.

You can see my card and mini bag here at Scrap'n Stamp Canada

Xmas Shoe Box Swap 2009

Make Merry with
Berry Christmas Stamp Set from Stampin' Up

Its hard to believe that its time for the annual Shoe Box Swap. This is such a fantastic event where demonstrators get together in our area and make each others cards.

The idea behind this is that you create a Christmas Holiday Card and cut everything (you don't make them) you need and enough supplies to make 10 + 1. Tables are set up 4 at a table where you leave your items for people to use. You skip your card and begin at the next and continue until you make 10 consecutive cards no skipping table you must do it in order. Basically if your card is # 7 you start at #8 and make the next 10.

Honestly this is so much fun and I always look forward to seeing what everyone has done.

Here is my submission for this year.

Supplies for this project are:

  1. Berry Christmas Stamp Set*
  2. SD Series Paper Christmas Cocoa Specialty Paper*
  3. Stampin' Up! Merry Details*
  4. Big Shot
  5. Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Real Red Card Stock,
  6. Old Olive, Soft Suede, Real Red Classic Ink
  7. Ribbon Originals Mistletoe Old Oliver and Whisper White*
  8. Scalloped Edge Punch
  9. Dazzeling Diamonds
  10. Real Red Stampin' Write Marker

* These items are from the Holiday Mini Catalogue on Sale Sept 1 - January 4, 2010

Hope this inspires you to create your own card using this stamp set!

Twist on Very Versatile Wedding Invitation

Take Basic Black, Whisper White with Razberry Add a Little Glimmer
Makes this Wedding Invitation Pop and Sparkle

Well it is a sure sign that Fall is here by the colour changes for wedding invitations. Dark purples, blacks, golden oranges remind me of the changing of the leaves. Which in my area of the country have already started,... oh where did summer go?

Last March I created this cute little wedding invitation see here using the stamp set "Very Versatile from Stampin' Up. (NOTE: The So Versatile Stamp Set is in the New Stampin' Up Occasions Mini Catalogue which is available from April 1 - June 20 and is not available in the new catalog). For that wedding invitation I went with the colours Certainly Celery, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. Which is perfect for a spring / summer wedding but maybe not so for a fall / winter so I chose three very different colours Basic Black, Whisper White and a little Hot Pink to make it pop! And lets not forget some glitter just enough to shimmer and give it some sparkle.

The back side has a custom pocket which holds Reply Card and Envelope, Accomodations and two side Map.

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Very Versatile
Cardstock: Basic Black and Whisper White
Ink: Raspberry Ink* but you can use Stampin' Up's Melon Mambo if you want.
Misc: Ribbon Azalea Single faced satin 3/8* plus Dazzling Diamonds and 2 way glue pen.

*All products with * are non-SU.

Scrap'n Stamp Canada Mini Calendar Project

Hi All:

Things have been very busy lately, from buying and selling our house, to work, weddings and packing there hasn't been much time for anything else. However I have been doing a lot of design projects for Scrap 'n Stamp Canada. In case you didn't see the post regarding this you can ready about it here. In July I was offered the opportunity to be a Guest Designer for Scrap n' Stamp. Each month I get a different kit filled with different types of papers, embellishments etc. to use for creating my projects. For those of you who know me I loved to hoard paper but I can't with this so at the same time it is good therapy and trust me these kits are filled with some of the most lovely papers, some of which I have had my eye on!

So keep coming back to see whats new you won't be disappointed!

Project #1 Mini Calender

For my first project I did a mini calendar that can be used anywhere home, work, school, really anywhere. I personally don't like those big bulky ones (really no room to hang one) so I decided to do a mini. Using the wonderful kit that I received from Scrap n' Stamp I created this very pretty calendar. Check out my first project here.
