New Wedding Design with Yummy Colours

So lov'en these new wedding designs

It has been awhile since I have posted a wedding invitation but there will be more I just don't like to reveal until the wedding happens so that it is a secret and if I am lucky along with a picture or two from the event!

I was inspired to do these after I did a design for a bride and groom from Chile, who wanted a black and yellow theme with a little twist. I will post that design in a couple of weeks and the pieces done with them. But for now let me know what you think of this one and what colour is your favourite and I will let you know what mine is!

Oh How I Love Birthday Parties

Ice Cream Parlour Delights

Last week I had been working on a new design for a 3 year old's birthday party using soft pinks and greys. It's amazing what you can create using MyDigital Studio from Stampin Up.

From the invitation to water bottle labels, to cake pops, signs and pin-wheels.  I even created a 36" w x 26" h backdrop that is put together with fishing line connecting them together with the picture of the birthday girl in the middle so absolutely delightful.

Pin-wheels, water bottle, cake
toppers, invite and sign.

Signs for each dish so they are well
marked for those little hands to grab.

Adorable backdrop designed to go behind table
holding all the fixings for Ice Cream Parlour.

This will be one of the projects we will be working on during my 2 day workshop in March on how to use MDS (MyDigital Studio from Stampin Up).

If you interested send me an e-mail and I will put you on the list for more info!

Tivoli: Villa d'Este, Rome

Happy First Day of September Everyone!

Today my share is from my trip to Italy last October with Ali Edwards and a group of wonderful new friends! One of my favourite things we did was the Tivoli Gardens just outside of Rome. This beautiful garden was so lush with greenery and history. A definite place to visit if you are ever in Italy.

Tivoli: Villa d'Este, Rome

In 1550 Cardinal Ippolito d'Este was appointed Governor of Tivoli. He wasted no time in taking possession of the Governor's palace, located in a former Benedictine monastery which he asked Pirro Ligorio to remodel to his taste.

The Villa d'Este's fame, however, is due more to its gardens than to the building itself. Each alley, path or avenue reveals a new mossy fountain in a carefully landscaped vista: there are supposed to be five hundred fountains altogether. This most famous of Italian-style gardens, which has been widely imitated, reverberates with the sound of so many fountains that it inspired the Romantic composer Franz Liszt to write a piano suite called "Fountains of the Villa d'Este".

The layout of the gardens

To clear space for the gardens a whole area of the town had to be demolished, many inhabitants being forced to sell or face expropriation. Due to the steepness of the terrain, enormous earth-moving works were undertaken in order to create alternating terraces and slopes. In addition, the site had an irregular shape.

The overall layout, designed to be seen from the original entrance at the foot of the hill, had to achieve two main purposes: to create the illusion that the villa was centrally placed (it is in fact slightly off-center) and to set it back by visually increasing the depth of the property.

The means chosen to achieve this were unusual for the time. A central alley prolonging the loggia, known as the Avenue of Perspectives, was made to intersect with five paths linking the monumental fountains; these were mostly positioned toward the sides to give the effect of an enclosure in relation to the surrounding landscape.

Have a great day!

Celebrate!

As the weather starts to change and leaves start to fall off the trees, I feel its to soon to welcome fall into my world. So to keep me balanced and genitally roll into fall slowly I designed a card with more of a spring/summer feel to it.

So for today's card I used bright colours of red, yellow and purple with ribbons and embossing and those wonderful Silver Flourish Designer Frames. And here is today's card!

It is Christmas Time in the Studio!

It's December Here in the Studio!

So last Thursday I was honoured to be a presenter at our annual Holiday Hoopla. This event happens after the release of the holiday Stampin Up catalogue. First we have a little chat about what is wonderful with the catalogue, (Hello everything!) a quick review of the make-and-takes and then it is demo booth time.

Demo Booth is so much fun you have 10 mins to show ya stuff and show how simple it is to showcase 3D items. For my demo booth I did a folded panels that open to form a star with these adorable danglers so friggen cute and so easy to create. Great as a little gift or for a table display (which I am working on for this year, creating one 6" x 6" plus some other secret things that will be coming soon)

6" x 3" folded and tied with a matching ribbon.

So last Thursday I was honoured to be a

It takes LOVE

This past May my Dad passed away from brain cancer. He was such a wonderful man who would do anything for anyone. Who loved his family, his friends and his church.
During his final weeks Dad was admitted into the hospital, though he wanted to pass at home, the care he required was more than we could handle.
His time there was long with many struggles but he was so loved and cared for by both the Dr and the nurses that when we couldn't be there we knew that he was loved.
As a thank you to the nurses I created this t-shirt letting them know that we appreciated everything that they could do for our Dad and that it was very appreciated.
I am also offering this for sale $36.00 including taxes plus shipping, with portion going to a scholarship in my Dad's name to the Nursing program at Algonquin College.

9 Years and Counting

Happy 9th Wedding Anniversary Honey!

To my darling wonderful husband who has more than been there for me. Thank you for loving my Dad like your own and for being such a wonderful "son-in-law". For being beside me and my Dad and Mom over the past year. For all the trips to Kingston, for stepping up to the plate, for all the visits to the DR's and lunches at MacDonald's with my Dad.

For the numerous hours at the hospital as my father cancer took over, and for being with us in those last moments when we needed your strength. My Dad truly loved you like a son, and knew that he could count on you took look after me.

I love you for the man you are today, loving, funny, and someone who I can count on in my darkest moments and when the sky opens up and the sun shines.

You are truly one-of-a-kind. I love you more each day we are together.

Dad walking me down the isle.

Thinking you today
Today would have been my parents 54th Wedding Anniversary. With the passing of my father two weeks ago it is still so tender, thinking of him not with us breaks my heart. But I can't imagine how it is for my Mom. For 53 years she has had Dad at her side, with her on this special occasion. Mom will be coming to dinner to our house today, so she isn't alone and we will celebrate even though Dad is not with us in person he is in our hearts.

Happy 54th Wedding Anniversary Mom and Dad!

HYBRID WEDDING
What is Hybrid Wedding Stationary?

Hybrid wedding stationary combines the tools and techniques of both digital and traditional (paper) wedding stationary. Hybrid Wedding Stationary allows the most creative freedom because it is not limited
to just one source of materials. It involves the same elements as paper and digital design, but any aspect of the wedding stationary can be generated digitally or by physical application.

How is Hybrid Wedding Stationary Accomplished?

Once the basics of paper and digital scrapbooking are grasped, and providing you have access to the right tools (paper supplies, computer, digital software and printer), you can use pretty much any combination of tools and techniques together to design your ideal wedding stationary. The only "rule" is that some aspects of the page were created on the computer, and others weren't!

What Supplies are Needed to Get Started in Hybrid Wedding Stationary?

Because hybrid wedding stationary utilizes the most resources, it also requires the most tools. The basic supplies for the digital aspect of hybrid wedding stationary are a computer and a printer (although you might use printing services rather than printing at home). The basic supplies for the paper portion are, of course, paper, digital software and of course digital stamp set(s), and fonts.

Finally, add embellishment(s), such as ribbons, bling or pearls.

NOTE: Red Elegance Wedding Stationary feature in this newsletter was created digitally using Stampin' Ups My Digital Studio.
