Taylors Sketch Challenge # 57

Believe in Fairy's with Enchanted Lily

I am not using a SU stamp for this challenge, and I feel so disloyal, but once you see how adorable it is you'll understand.

I subscribe to many many blogs and one of my favorites is My Time My Creations My Stampendence by Lauren Meader. Lauren does a lot of work for Papertryink specifically designing and creating Timeless Templates which I have many of. Lauren's designs are beautiful, and one of my favorites is this oh so cute Interactive Swing Pendulum card . Which I am so going to have to make. Isn't it to die for, anyway if you are interested this stamp set is available at Pink Cat Studios and the stamp set is Enchanted Lily.

This weeks Taylored Expressions Challenge #57 is dedicated to Enchanted Lily.

Colour Inspiration Challenge #43

Pretty Amazing - Happy Birthday

Each week Kristina Werner posts a new colour inspiration on her blog and they are truly inspiring. Here is my entry for colour inspiration #43.

This one is another one of my favorite stamp sets Pretty Amazing. To make it look like the hummingbird is flying I added the wire which makes it bounce giving it a 2D effect. The flower was done in 3 layers, but not full layers more pieces of the flower added with Stampin Up Stampin' Dimensionals.

Mojo Monday Week 75

Bright Colours Make Washington Apple Delicious!

Here is my latest submission for week 75 Mojo Mondays .
I am trying lately to get out of the box by using bright colours instead of safe colours. You see I'm more of a natural tone person, you know earth tones, NOTHING TO LOUD. Even my wedding had no colour, which totally confused my mother. "What are your colours going to be for the wedding?" and my response was no colour. Basically I did everything in creams, with tones of cream. Why even the girls dresses were cream and made of honour tone of beige. I think that I surprised everyone, you have to understand I work in colour all day. For those who don't know me I am a Art/Creative Director/Graphic Designer so you can see where this is coming from. And I am addicted to paper, not that bond stuff I mean the real nice stuff. So this week I am doing my own intervention, I have to use the paper that I have been hording in my cupboards. For those who know me this is very difficult because I love to collect paper, I have been known to buy paper just to keep never to use. I don't care I just love to look at it. So for my first milestone (or intervention step 1) I am using Stampin' Ups DSP Washington Apple and boy is it bright.

Here is my submission for week 75 plus of course my favorite thing the close-up hope you like!

Bundle of Joy Onesies Gift Set

How Sweet It Is - "Bundle of Joy" Onesies Gift Set

Isn't this just so sweet. I just love the details, the Small White Gable Boxes the little tag that is pined to the onesie. I often like to give a little gift to co-workers who are expecting, just a little keepsake nothing to big. I thought instead of buying something I'll make something which to me is even more special. I'm all about going the extra mile. So I came up with this little gift set that could be applied to any stamp-set you like. I just love the "Bundle of Joy" Stamp set though it is retired it is the one I always turn to when I design my Diaper Cakes and now for my gift sets.
If you don't want to buy the little gable boxes then make your own box or even better that little envelope that everyone was disappointed in because of the size makes a fantastic gift box.

The following is what I used:
  1. Small White Gable Boxes
  2. Bundle of Joy Stamp Set or any current baby set
  3. Onesie 100% white washed, ironed
  4. Stampin' Up Craft Stamp Pads (colours of your choice, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip Pixel Pink
  5. Stampin' Up Card stock Bashful Blue, Whisper White
  6. Ribbon: 1/2 Stripped Grosgrain Ribbon Bashful Blue
  7. Bitty Baby Blessings Patterned Paper (Not SU)
  8. Nestabilities Petite Classic Oval - large

Taylors Sketch Challenge # 56

I have to admit this one I found to be a challenge. You see I have a hard time putting things in the middle, just feels so anti feng shui. Trust me it's only me. You see I can't buy or do anything in pairs, it always has to be odd numbers 1, 3 or 5 LOL. This is the same thing for centering items I just can't seem to do it. So I am a little off from the challenge but still very happy with the end result.

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set

Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Basic Black, Whisper White plus DS Urban Oasis Paper

Ink: Kiwi Kiss and Baja Breeze

Accessories: Whisper White 1/4 Grosgrain Ribbon; Designer Brads Filigree; Dazzling diamonds; Silver Brads; Stampin' Up Beautiful Butterflies

Wedding Guestbook - Cherry Blossom

Kim and Nick's Guestbook

Below is a sample of the guest book that I worked on for my good friend Kim and her husbands wedding last September. This isn't your usual guest book where guest "scratch" their signature and put such sentiments as "good luck" or "about time". This was truly a personal keepsake that the couple will treasure even on their 25Th wedding anniversary.

Each wedding invitation that was sent wedding invitation received a card that required each guest to answer three simple questions and return it with their reply card.

The questions that were ask are as follows:
  1. Top 3 Tips for a Successful Marriage
  2. Favorite Memory of Kim and Nick
  3. Best Wishes for the Bride and Groom

Each page in the book was dedicated to an individual couple or guest, for those who could not make it like Nicks brother who was stationed overseas a page was also included. There was even special pages for the Bride and Grooms parents and lets not forget Nana.

Each response that was sent back with the reply card was designed, printed and added to the book. But it doesn't end there, during the wedding another photographer was tasked with shooting portraits of all the guests which were later printed and also added to the book.

Here is our portrait from the wedding.

What a great idea, its all about the personal things!

Mojo Monday Week 74

Here for You Card - Friends 24-7
Mojo Monday Challenge Week 74 and My First Time

Happy Monday! Gosh it is so great to have a day off and especially a Monday, not only do I get to play with paper but I also spent a good part of today with my girls. Today we went to a movie Hotel for Dogs, what a great movie, and of course there were pugs. After the movie we headed for a late lunch at Kanata Susi, so yummie. Thank you for such a wonderful day Kira, Kaitlin, Madison and especially their Mom who is the best friend anyone could have!

For the rest of the day I got to play. Lately I seem to be into these challenges that I am finding, and here is the latest one called
Mojo Mondays . If you are having a hard time getting motivated these are a perfect way to get those creative juices going. Here is this weeks challenge to jump start your mojo this week, so let's get to it.
To play along, just make a project using the sketch above. Upload it to your blog or online gallery and leave a link here, so other participants can check out your creation.

My Studio - My Favorite Place to Be

Looking Gooooooood

Well we are 80% of the way complete in the renovations of my home studio. All that needs to be done is painting the entire area, putting down new floor and adding new curtains for the window and all those messy areas that I don't want people to see.

Here is a pic of my new shelf which doubles as a showcase of new things that I have made or things that were created that I just had to display. The shelf, lights, desk and smaller credenza all from IKEA. The only thing I hate are those cords so I have to come up with a way to hide all that clutter.

Don't you just love the floor LOL, yesterday as my wonderful husband put up the shelf I decided that the yukky, gold, shag carpet had to go and discovered that the previous owners were to lazy to put that cheap tile everywhere, go figure I must say that it is still way better than that old carpet.

This is my new credenza, it is from IKEA part of the EFFEKTIV collection, which I have 3 additional pieces of. You can't see them in these shots because that area is really messy and well I don't want to look like a total slob.

This is the beautiful shelf that my husband put up for me on V-Day, I think V-Day was really a DYI day, because we got so much done. I love when I have a look or idea in my head and it actual works. This floating shelf, also from IKEA called LACK system works perfect for:

  • holding lights also from IKEA INREDA
  • displaying my favorite works of art

This is my favorite Teddy Bear. When my husband and I got married all the children in the wedding party had one of these at there place setting. They were such a great hit and of course I had to get one for myself, the flower is my husbands boutonniere from our wedding.

Hope you like what you have seen so far, more to come!

Valnetines Day Card for the Man

Hugs and Kisses

So I seem to be really into wire, and bouncy things on my cards, I can't seem to stop. I have been going through all of my containers of craft supplies and found this rem (spelling) of wire. I thought hey this would be great to add to the heart; giving it a little movement. And so it began.

I love to create cards that have surprises, things that are not expected, like taking the scallop punch and making a peek-a-boo window and adding a little something extra inside.

What do you like to do when you create cards, send me your feedback.
