2011 Sneak Peak No. 2 - Love Letter

Keeping It Simple Doesn't Have to Be Boring - Black/Cream/White Wedding

Today's sneak peak is inspired by everything black and cream/white. Keeping the colour combination simple doesn't mean it can't be dramatic. Using a simple palette is the drama. Remember just like there are different colours of blue (warm and cool colours) the same happens for this colour palette. There are many ranges of black and cream to choose from so make sure you keep swatches handy when choosing your palette.

This colour pallet is Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Basic Grey and Silver. Chic and glamorous like the old Hollywood films.

2011 SNEAK PEAK No. 1 - Paris Parfait

Ohhh La La Stampin' Up Style!

You know the best thing I love about Stampin' Up has to be the ability of match colours. I know I know I say this way to often but really its true, this is what makes creating these designs so easy.

So lets talk about inspiration. I find inspiration in so many things, from photo's to paintings, to hair pins, to china tea cups, post cards, antiques, bird cadges etc. I often buy things because they inspire tucking them away until the day the spark is lit and I remember to pull it out letting the inspiration flow. I have also talked often about dreaming, I will dream a design so keep a notepad close by so you can make notes often. I also do a lot of research on the Internet, in fact I am sure I find a new wedding site at least once a week that inspire me.

Why you could even start a scrapbook fill with inspirational pictures or anything that inspires you and reference it often. Remember to even journal, about something you have seen or have heard. You never know when an idea will be right around the corner.

Today's sneak peak is inspired by everything Paris and everything Ohhhh la la wonderful. From colours, little french hats with fine netting, gloves, lacy french lingerie, to glass hair pins, and lets not forget the purse made from tiny french silk of loveliness.

My colour pallet is Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Basic Grey and Silver with a shot of  Frost White Shimmer. I picture an afternoon tea outside with flowing shear organza, ribbons of white and cream and dreams of ohhhh la la french chic.

Guest Speaker Sale-A-Bration Smackdown

Yesterday was a fantastic day, I was the guest speaker at Sale-A-Bration Smackdown for local demonstrators and customers. Basically we get together and learn new ideas and techniques and of course the make-and-takes can't forget them. This was organized by the ever so lovely Marlayne from SparkleDaisy Stamping Thank you Marlayne!

Over the next few days I will be showing you what I created for this event and what I talked about. This was my very first time as a guest speaker but I have to tell you the ladies made me feel so at ease and so welcomed that it was like a walk in the park. I will also show you the fantastic make-and-takes that we made.

Over the next few weeks I will also be posting my Sneak Peaks for this years Wedding Invitation Workshop. So there are lots of things going on over here in the studio.

Dreaming = Creative = Pillow

Creating for me is like breathing, cut off the creativity cuts the oxigen to my brain, not good. Most of the ideas I have been getting lately have come from dreams I have had. For example, many of the wedding invitations that I have designed come from dreams and anything 3D too.

Generally I don't sleep through the night, mostly a couple of hours. If I am having a creative dream I make sure that I have paper close by and a pen and flashlight so I can jot down what ever it was that I dreamed. Now for most of you, you probably think I am nuts and you might be right but if I don't write it down chances are I won't remember it and that just can't happen.

I love the fact that not only are Stampin Up's Classic Ink Colours fantastic but they also offer a Craft version for many of them that can be used for everthing else that isnt paper. This opens even more possibilites of creating items other than cards of scrapbooking.

I have always wanted to stamp on fabric and I have been dreaming of doing a pillow for so long it seems. Again another one of those dreams. So as one of my projects to "Show and Tell" for Sale-A-Bration Smackdown I designed this pillow using Stampin Up Products!
