Embracing Change and Turning a New Leaf

It has been awhile since I posted with the loss of our beloved dog Gadget we have had some adjusting to do, for both of us and our other two dogs. But we have been managing and ensuring that both Holly and Winston have been getting extra care and love at this time. It is hard to believe that Christmas has passed and a new year has begun in fact we are half way through January already. So you might have been wondering why I have not posted in awhile and I am happy to say that I am embracing new change and turning a new lead with my wedding designs.

The launch of uniquely you.
Custom Wedding Invitations from studioneight

Yesterday I did my very first wedding show, in a local town about half hour from where I live. The show was a small one but an excellent size for my first time, not to big that I would feel overwhelmed and not to small that I didn't get any traffic or feedback. So all in all an excellent opportunity that I had to take part in and I was so excited that I did.

The show was the Perth Winter Wedding Show held at the Codes Mill in and Spa an absolutely beautiful jewel in Perth, Ontario. Not only was the place beautiful but the staff was amazing! Though my space was small I was still able to display everything well and meet potential brides and there grooms without feeling it was too tight.

With approx 150 visitors, of those I have to admit were my personal support group, thank you guys for taking time out of your day to make me feel even more special. I received excellent feedback, for both my designs and how unique my display was. Again another dream that I had, a vision of white creams and more whites. Seriously when I explained that everything was purchased at the local hardware store and was assembled to be modular, people were amazed how creative and unique my booth was.

I was also well marketed, from my logo, to my business card, rack card and roll-up banner it was a well branded day! It is amazing how things come together, and a vision is rolled out.

Here are a few pics from the event, over the next few weeks I will be posting some new designs

I will be working on and starting to get ready for my third annual Wedding Design Workshop, yes it is that time of the year. I will be rolling out another version of my successful PDF giving you everything you need to create your own custom wedding designs!

I will also be announcing the winner of yesterdays draw for gift certificate for

2011 Sneak Peak No. 2 - Love Letter

Keeping It Simple Doesn't Have to Be Boring - Black/Cream/White Wedding

Today's sneak peak is inspired by everything black and cream/white. Keeping the colour combination simple doesn't mean it can't be dramatic. Using a simple palette is the drama. Remember just like there are different colours of blue (warm and cool colours) the same happens for this colour palette. There are many ranges of black and cream to choose from so make sure you keep swatches handy when choosing your palette.

This colour pallet is Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Basic Grey and Silver. Chic and glamorous like the old Hollywood films.

Wedding Invitation Design No. 2

This one has to be my favorite. I love the lack of colour and elegance, this particular design has a hidden uniqueness that you will have to attend the workshop to see. The contrast between Wedding Invitation One and Two is very obvious allowing you to show the versatility of Stampin' Up's products. Simple Elegance describes this design.
