FREE DOWNLOAD 3" X 4" CARDS

FREEBIE TIME!

So many things have been happening lately, I have started back with Stampin’ Up; I have a once a month card workshop (thank you so much to Marlayne Hardy) and I have started a new job at Starbucks. I totally believe that one should do things they love and well I love coffee, I love crafting of all kinds. My other passion of course is graphic design. And if you put all three of those together well I am one happy person!

This month I am creating tags, paper designs and illustrations that can be used for gift giving or can be used on projects such as Project Life, card making and/or scrap booking. This is something that I have always wanted to do. With my new job and the flexibility of working shifts it gives me the opportunity I need to focus on designing my own line of papers, cards and stamps. Yes I will be creating some stamps that can be used with all of these items.

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. Over the last five years it has been hard and if I was truly honest it probably been longer than that. Depression is a funny thing it sneaks up on you, and before you know it you have changed and the things that you used to do you no longer do. I used to create so many things, I would sew I would decorate the house and the table at Christmas. I would cook and bake I would go to parties, share in the festivities. Little by little I am trying to find that person again, where they have gone I am not sure but I have been in a good place lately and I am hoping this year I will feel like celebrating.

When it comes to designing things that like I am not a traditionalist. I don't like to use the typical Christmas colors. Instead I love to use more modern colors like red and blue or gray and red, or all three. The following are some very cute cards that you can use as tags by punching a hole in the corner or you can use for Project Life even.

A Cute Christmas Gift Box

Weekends Should Be a Time to Create

Don't you just love the weekends, its a time to catch up on everything that you don't get done during the week. Frankly I love to get all those jobs that I have to do done during the week so I don't have to waste time doing it on the weekend. You know what I mean, laundry, cooking, cleaning etc. I would rather spend my weekends creating, playing in my studio than doing laundry or anything else.

One of the things I am planning is a packaging workshop. Every year at work we do a cookie exchange and I always like to encourage the group to package things nice and pretty so that for those who are going to be giving away as gifts they are ready to go.

Packaging is so important, no matter what you are giving, it is simple to do and just makes what ever you made that much better. Over the next few weeks I will be posting different types of ways that you can do this, all using Stampin Up products. From the chocolate box below, to Kraft sandwich bags, to cello to little pizza boxes. The ideas are endless.

Chocolate Box - holds all types of chocolates such as nuggets, or instead of sweets why not add some tissue paper, (remember you can stamp on anything) and use it to hold jewelry or even a gift card.

Look for more holiday packaging using Stampin Up products.

Just Can't Get Enough Christmas Stamps!

Every year I tell myself the same thing, "no more Xmas stamps you have enough" and then I go to either a workshop or do a swap and see a card made and that's it I just have to have it.

If you are to buy only one stamp set (like that's possible for me) I would say this is the one. I love the clean lines the look and feel of this stamp. It is a stamp set that can be used over and over again and will never age. It is what it is contemporary. Absolutely one of my favorites from this years Stampin' Up catalogue. I have done to versions of this card, I have cased this one but can't remember where, but have changed the design to a different format, for both a horizontal and vertical style, you decided which is better.

Minimal Guidance Gets the Best Results

My Cousins Creation - It's a piece of ART

I love it when people say "I can't or I don't know what to do?" for me it comes simple "creating" that is. I have been doing it for so long and so often that it's like breathing for me so sometimes I forget others are not as comfortable or able to just let themselves go. My theory is give them a few minutes and a few simple directions and there is no stopping them.

While my cousin was down for surgery, we simple had to do some crafting I mean what better therapy! For this project I basically just gave a few hints but basically didn't want to direct, or say try this or that I wanted her to do what she wanted. Give a girl some bling and who knows what will happen. So in honour of my cousin here is her piece of art, that whomever gets it should really be framing it.
