FREE DOWNLOAD 3" X 4" CARDS

FREEBIE TIME!

So many things have been happening lately, I have started back with Stampin’ Up; I have a once a month card workshop (thank you so much to Marlayne Hardy) and I have started a new job at Starbucks. I totally believe that one should do things they love and well I love coffee, I love crafting of all kinds. My other passion of course is graphic design. And if you put all three of those together well I am one happy person!

This month I am creating tags, paper designs and illustrations that can be used for gift giving or can be used on projects such as Project Life, card making and/or scrap booking. This is something that I have always wanted to do. With my new job and the flexibility of working shifts it gives me the opportunity I need to focus on designing my own line of papers, cards and stamps. Yes I will be creating some stamps that can be used with all of these items.

Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. Over the last five years it has been hard and if I was truly honest it probably been longer than that. Depression is a funny thing it sneaks up on you, and before you know it you have changed and the things that you used to do you no longer do. I used to create so many things, I would sew I would decorate the house and the table at Christmas. I would cook and bake I would go to parties, share in the festivities. Little by little I am trying to find that person again, where they have gone I am not sure but I have been in a good place lately and I am hoping this year I will feel like celebrating.

When it comes to designing things that like I am not a traditionalist. I don't like to use the typical Christmas colors. Instead I love to use more modern colors like red and blue or gray and red, or all three. The following are some very cute cards that you can use as tags by punching a hole in the corner or you can use for Project Life even.

FLASH BACK FRIDAY - Hand Painted Poppies

Trying to get organized some days is impossible so I have decided to give myself a break on Fridays show some of my favourite cards, scrap booking pages and 3D projects I have done from the past.

So welcome to my first Flashback Friday and enjoy!

It has been so long since I have posted so much has happened that I haven't really had the design bug in me. With the help of my Stampin Up friends I have been able to "Get Back to It" and with that my first project in a long time.

For this project I used the following:

White card stock final size 5" x 7" flat vertical
Pleasant Poppies Clear-Mount Stamp Set
Blender pens
Stampin Up Classic Ink
Text generated on computer

Stamp image using either Early Espresso or Soft Suede as outline, choose your colours for flowers  and buds and stems such as Tangerine Tango, Gumball Green and Lucky Limeade and accent with Soft Suede.

The key to the card is working in layers, light to dark and choosing where the lighting is coming from for me it was coming from the right so I made sure I accented with the Soft Suede on the left side.

This is a fun project that doesn't require a lot of product and the effect is breathtaking.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wedding LOVE Scrapbook Page

Saving Memories One Wedding at a Time

I am not a big scrap book person not that I don't love to create them but I often find it hard for subject matter. I have no children and frankly I can only do so many pages of my fur babies. I do them of my trips but other than that unless there is a wedding or someone has a baby my designs are usually missing pictures until I find some to add. Yes, I have blank pages waiting for the perfect picture and that works for me.

Today's post is of my second cousin who got married last October. I loved the fact it had my favourite Aunt and Uncle along with my cousin (their granddaughter) in it and decided it needed scrapping.

For this project I used a mixture of Stampin' Up products and Teresa Collins - Carolina Breeze Collection which I absolutely love, grey is my new black. I found these wonderful rhinestone pins / buttons on Etsy and love the wooden letters from Studio Calico inked and varnished.

I didn't write anything other than adding the date as this was a gift for my Aunt and Uncle so I left blank so they could add their own message / memories.

Magnificent ...the perfect word for you

The perfect word for you!

So I am doing these random acts of kindness (RAK), working on designs enjoying and then mailing out to some unfortunate or maybe fortunate person depending on if you like my work LOL. Would you like to be one of these people? The following is a card "box" a card that folds down to a box, and you can add things inside as long as you don't use to many embellishments (as I discovered to late) tags are best so that you can use them on gifts or leave as notes to someone.

The following is using Teresa Collins Everyday Moments which I am absolutely in love with.

If you would like to receive RAK leave me a message with address and your name might be chosen but I can't tell you if you won! But you just might get something in the mail!

Thank you

Closed with Ribbon

Peaking inside you see the tags

When you remove the tags a secret message!

Wedding Reflections

Kristy and Matt - August 27, 2011 - Caledon, Ontario

Jo-Ann,

Matt and I are so incredibly grateful to you for providing all of our wedding stationary. We've received countless compliments on the programs, invitations, table cards, and menus. We are amazed by your creativity, attention to detail, and ability to capture exactly what we had in mind. To top it all off, you are the most lovely person and an absolute gem to deal with. We would recommend you in a heartbeat! Thank you so much for helping to make our big day so special.
All our gratitude,
Kristy and Matt Cane
I have done a lot of weddings over the years, and everyone of them leaves my heart full of love but I have to admit Kristy and Matt and there family(s) love for each other is addictive. Looking at the many wonderful photos of the celebrations up to the event and the wedding leave one with a "I would so love to be part of this family" feeling and frankly I think they would welcome anyone with open arms.

Kristy was referred to me by her aunt who I happened to know through my Stampin' Up family, another family that I love so much. She simple loves her niece and wanted to do something special for her. From the moment Kristy and I spoke I knew that this was going to be a special couple, and I wasn't wrong, they are amazing!

The following are a few pics that I felt best reflected their love and some of why these two have a special place in my heart.

Addictive Joy and Love, the Happy Couple!

Beau Chateau Mini Canvas Album

I love everything about Stampin' Ups NEW line Beau Chateau, from the Designer Fabric to the Designer Paper, Side Notes even the Designrer Printed Album. For this project I wanted to do something smaller and different than an album. I bought a canvas mini album 4" w x 7" h with three rings and chipboard pages which are very easy to cover with paper.

The following project uses this line with a few extra items all from Stampin' Up!

The cover was done very simply by creating a stencil out of cardstock vellum using the die BigZ Tulipe (retired), and Marine Mist Crafting Ink with a sponge dabber. Then using the stamp set Established Elegance I stamped using Soft Suede Classic Ink directly on the canvas. Next I added ribbon 1 1/4" Marine Mist Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, 5/8" Marine Mist Satin Ribbon, and 5/8" Victoria Crochet Trim. Last using Beau Chateau Designer Fabric and BigZ L Fun Flowers I created and flower and held it together with an Antique Brad and a few Basic Pearl Jewels.

For the interior I used Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper and Side Notes and of course Marine Mist 5/8" Satin Ribbon.

Opening the ribbon tab reveals more surprises, and places for pictures and journaling.

I love creating smaller pages they feel like little pieces of art, and are so sweet when you use ribbon and even Simply Adorned Trinket Keys.

I love using envelopes in my designs they allow you to add items that you don't want to permanently add to any project. Simply slip these items into the envelope to store this will both protect the item and make it a conversation piece. And you can even stamp on the envelope to co-ordinate with what you are doing. So simple!

Another thing I simple love to use is MDS (My Digital Studio) most people use this for scrap booking or creating cards and other items but I like to use to create wedding invitations, party supply’s such as banners and cupcake toppers and my favourite is my version of the 10 Things Pocket for I Love About Being Your Friend. This was all created in MDS and printed on my home computer! Super easy and very custom which is something I love!

Another thing that I created in MDS is little journal pages using Bea Chateau Digital Papers. On one side I have a message and the left you could add a picture. Each of these 10 pages coincides with one of the numbers from my 10 Favourite Things. In the image below there is more room for pictures to be added.
