MDS (My Digital Studio) - Scrapbooking My Trip to Italy MDS style!

Where Has the Time Gone

With my trip to China getting closer and closer I am reflecting on my last trip with Ali Edwards to Italy and all the beautiful pictures and places I have been but have still not scrap booked. I am feeling so guilty because I know that other people have done their books and they look fabulous and mine not so good.

Yes I am still working on scrap booking my trip to Italy circa 2011. I am so ashamed, it isn't like I don't have any paper, stamps embellishments etc etc. I mean my friends call my place the store. But I have gotten lost in so many other things that it is time for a kick in butt. So I have decided along with the traditional way of scrap booking I am going to do digital pages too. From now until I leave for China I will posting scrap book pages of my trip to Italy using of course Stampin Up's MDS. Seriously it is super easy and isn't cheating.

The following is Vernazza a town and comune located in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northwestern Italy. It is one of the five towns that make up the Cinque Terre region. And a most amazing place to visit.

We had been there less than a week before the big flood that destroyed the town, covered with mud from a terrible slide.

MY DIGITAL STUDIO (MDS) - 10 Things I Love About You!

Create Create Create It's Endless with MDS!

There pretty well isn't anything that you can't create using MDS one of the things I like is the cost. You create what ever you want using the downloads you have purchased from cards to scrapbook pages to mini albums seriously you can create anything.

So on one of my shopping trips I saw this and knew that I had to create my own version but 10 Things I Love About Being Your Friend. I would create the pocket and then make a front to it using MDS punch a small circle on the front and make little cards to go inside. Super simple and really it is!

10 Things Pockets with Varnish Accents

For my version I used Beau Chateau, one of my favourite vintage papers they also have a Beau Chateau Embellishments though I didn't use the embellishments but you could.

Beau Chateau Embellishments

Beau Chateau Digital Papers

I simple set up one tag .8 w x 5.25 high, chose the font and pattern paper then repeated and change for the other nine and I have created my own version using what I had. For the front of the pocket I created a square 4.5 w x 5.25 h roughly and for the actual pocket I did it 5 w x 5.75 plus .5 on three sides for the flaps. Let me know if you want a diagram for this and I will do one that you can download and use.

You can see the whole mini album I did using this idea here

CARD CREATING - My Digital Studio (MDS) from Stampin' Up!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Some days all I want to do is create something and only embellish, not think to much just let it flow. Today's post is the result of one of those such days, just a card something not to complicated.

I LOVE using Fabulous Florets they are simple yet beautiful add some pearls and we are done, simple.

Have you used MDS yet? It is my go to for when I want to be creative without pulling out all my tools. And it keeps my studio somewhat tidy.

When shooting thes pictures I choose natural light and got these wonderful orbs flooding light in beautiful circles all around, making the picture more dream like.

Scrapbook Page Using My Digital Studio (MDS)

Have You Used My Digital Studio (MDS)?

As much as I love to use paper, stamps and yummy embellishments often I like to create using My Digital Studio (MDS). Or when I am in a pinch for a quick card, trust me this happens often, and then I add an embellishment and some ribbon and done.

Why do I love MDS?

I like the freedom, the creativity that it allows and the price. For this project I used the MDS Lemonade Stand Digital Disc that I received for FREE during Sale-a-bration 2013. I have to say this is one of my favourite lines because it is happy and bright and very versatile.

Do you have MDS? What are your favourite reasons for using it? And leave me a link and show me your creations I would love to see them!

Oh How I Love Birthday Parties

Ice Cream Parlour Delights

Last week I had been working on a new design for a 3 year old's birthday party using soft pinks and greys. It's amazing what you can create using MyDigital Studio from Stampin Up.

From the invitation to water bottle labels, to cake pops, signs and pin-wheels.  I even created a 36" w x 26" h backdrop that is put together with fishing line connecting them together with the picture of the birthday girl in the middle so absolutely delightful.

Pin-wheels, water bottle, cake
toppers, invite and sign.

Signs for each dish so they are well
marked for those little hands to grab.

Adorable backdrop designed to go behind table
holding all the fixings for Ice Cream Parlour.

This will be one of the projects we will be working on during my 2 day workshop in March on how to use MDS (MyDigital Studio from Stampin Up).

If you interested send me an e-mail and I will put you on the list for more info!

Beau Chateau Mini Canvas Album

I love everything about Stampin' Ups NEW line Beau Chateau, from the Designer Fabric to the Designer Paper, Side Notes even the Designrer Printed Album. For this project I wanted to do something smaller and different than an album. I bought a canvas mini album 4" w x 7" h with three rings and chipboard pages which are very easy to cover with paper.

The following project uses this line with a few extra items all from Stampin' Up!

The cover was done very simply by creating a stencil out of cardstock vellum using the die BigZ Tulipe (retired), and Marine Mist Crafting Ink with a sponge dabber. Then using the stamp set Established Elegance I stamped using Soft Suede Classic Ink directly on the canvas. Next I added ribbon 1 1/4" Marine Mist Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, 5/8" Marine Mist Satin Ribbon, and 5/8" Victoria Crochet Trim. Last using Beau Chateau Designer Fabric and BigZ L Fun Flowers I created and flower and held it together with an Antique Brad and a few Basic Pearl Jewels.

For the interior I used Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper and Side Notes and of course Marine Mist 5/8" Satin Ribbon.

Opening the ribbon tab reveals more surprises, and places for pictures and journaling.

I love creating smaller pages they feel like little pieces of art, and are so sweet when you use ribbon and even Simply Adorned Trinket Keys.

I love using envelopes in my designs they allow you to add items that you don't want to permanently add to any project. Simply slip these items into the envelope to store this will both protect the item and make it a conversation piece. And you can even stamp on the envelope to co-ordinate with what you are doing. So simple!

Another thing I simple love to use is MDS (My Digital Studio) most people use this for scrap booking or creating cards and other items but I like to use to create wedding invitations, party supply’s such as banners and cupcake toppers and my favourite is my version of the 10 Things Pocket for I Love About Being Your Friend. This was all created in MDS and printed on my home computer! Super easy and very custom which is something I love!

Another thing that I created in MDS is little journal pages using Bea Chateau Digital Papers. On one side I have a message and the left you could add a picture. Each of these 10 pages coincides with one of the numbers from my 10 Favourite Things. In the image below there is more room for pictures to be added.

Canadian Wedding Invitation Swap

Canadian Wedding Invitation Swap

Fablous Florets Wedding Invitation using
MDS (My Digital Studio) from Stampin' Up!

It has been awhile since I have designed a wedding invitation but I think I am back into it and joined along with 10 other lovely ladies the Canadian Wedding Invitaion Swap. Bascially you design a wedding invtiation, with RSVP, directions and other events card. We also were allowed to use MDS (My Digtial Studio which is fantastic and exactly what I did.

For my invitation I used the Stamp Set Fabulous Florets, Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Baja Breeze and Whisper White card stock for the ink I used Early Espresso, Baja Breeze all in RGB colours. I also included a sheet of vellum card stock printed with the Fabulous Florets amd with the following words...

love can not be measured by days but by moments...

I love the details that can be added so that each design is unique.

Seems Like Forever

Hello all sorry I haven't posted in awhile it has taken me 5 weeks so far just to energy to do this. But I am back and hopefully will be more consistent with my posting. So for those who have wondered where I have been I have been home ignoring everything trying to get myself back on track since I lost my job.

Last weekend we had our first Spring Fling where we get together with other Demonstrators and their guest and share, learn and create. I love these events I find after spending time with these lovely ladies you feel not only better but inspired. The event includes a speaker, at our last event I got to be the speaker and this time it was the spectacular Kim Assely from River Front Stamping and as usual she was fantastic. Sharing with us her style and techniques that she loves to do. Her demonstration focused on doing a Party Workshop. She created a banner, invitation, cupcake flags, and a guest book all using the new Stamping Up products from the Spring Mini. Her theme was boating using the Designer Series Paper Nautical Expedition and The Open Sea, Sail Away and Bakers Twine.

We also had demo booths, where demonstrators share a different technique or design that they learned. For my booth I shared my design for Matchbook Invitations using Designer Series Paper Nautical Expedition and The Open Sea for My Digital Studio. Yes, I have gone digital though it hasn't been without me kicking and screaming. For those who know me I have had the software ever since it came out but only started to learn how to use it over the past 5 weeks.

Talk about jumping in and having fun.

Matchbook Invite
This invite works exactly like a package of matches but bigger and was done using My Digital Studio or MDS for short. By doing it in MDS I was able to have a lot more flexibility then I would using the normal paper and stamps. Allowing me to enlarge the stamps to different sizes where with the standard stamps you get one size only. Now I am not saying that I am not going to stop using traditional stamps and DS paper that will never happen I love things that are tactile. But when you have to make a bunch for a party this has to be the fastest and the easiest way to do it and it is fun too.

So here are a few samples and instructions on how to make.
