Where Has the Time Gone 

With my trip to China getting closer and closer I am reflecting on my last trip with Ali Edwards to Italy and all the beautiful pictures and places I have been but have still not scrap booked. I am feeling so guilty because I know that other people have done their books and they look fabulous and mine not so good.  

Yes I am still working on scrap booking my trip to Italy circa 2011. I am so ashamed, it isn't like I don't have any paper, stamps embellishments etc etc. I mean my friends call my place the store. But I have gotten lost in so many other things that it is time for a kick in butt. So I have decided along with the traditional way of scrap booking I am going to do digital pages too. From now until I leave for China I will posting scrap book pages of my trip to Italy using of course Stampin Up's MDS. Seriously it is super easy and isn't cheating.

The following is Vernazza a town and comune located in the province of La Spezia, Liguria, northwestern Italy. It is one of the five towns that make up the Cinque Terre region. And a most amazing place to visit. 

We had been there less than a week before the big flood that destroyed the town, covered with mud from a terrible slide.

FLASHBACK FRIDAYS - There is No End to the Adventures of Madison

Have you every had an idea that you absolutely had to do to the point that you stayed up until 1 a.m. working on then go to bed and dream about it and come up with a great idea. Then you wake up thinking about it and how fantastic its going to look and force yourself to stay in bed because 4:30 a.m. is to early to get up on your day off? Well that was me today. The following page was inspired by a little girl that is close to my heart. When I got married Madison was my flower girl well basically she did what she wanted why I think she even pulled on Father Paul's robes during the ceremony but who cared she was so adorable in her little dress hard to believe after 7 years how much she has grown into the bright and lovable little girl.

For this project I only used Stampin' Up card stock Bashful Blue and of course Early Espresso the other products I cannot mention as part of my agreement as a Demonstrator. But if you would like to know just send me an e-mail I would be more than happy to give you my recipe.


Madison's Page Full of Fun and Spunk Just Like Her




In her 9 years of age Madison loves and has done many things. She is a beautiful singer and dancer, loves to ski and compete down hill, she loves to fish and cook. Why she even has her own cooking show on YouTube. I think by the time Madison is a young adult she will have accomplished and done things that we could only hope to do in our life time. She has a beautiful smile and laugh that will warm that special place in your heart.

Wedding LOVE Scrapbook Page

Saving Memories One Wedding at a Time

I am not a big scrap book person not that I don't love to create them but I often find it hard for subject matter. I have no children and frankly I can only do so many pages of my fur babies. I do them of my trips but other than that unless there is a wedding or someone has a baby my designs are usually missing pictures until I find some to add. Yes, I have blank pages waiting for the perfect picture and that works for me.

Today's post is of my second cousin who got married last October. I loved the fact it had my favourite Aunt and Uncle along with my cousin (their granddaughter) in it and decided it needed scrapping.

For this project I used a mixture of Stampin' Up products and Teresa Collins - Carolina Breeze Collection which I absolutely love, grey is my new black. I found these wonderful rhinestone pins / buttons on Etsy and love the wooden letters from Studio Calico inked and varnished.

I didn't write anything other than adding the date as this was a gift for my Aunt and Uncle so I left blank so they could add their own message / memories.

Raspberry Delight - Journaling Even the Simple Things

Today I am making some homemade rasberry ice cream for my trip to Barrie and my visit to my next door neighbours new home. She always said if she could make ice cream a food group it would be the only thing she would ever eat. Her's to her see you in a few days!

One thing I find hard not having children is journaling or even keeping memories of the simple things, like making homemade ice cream. One of the reasons I don't really scrapbook is what do I scrapbook about? I can only do so many pages of the dogs I mean they are super cute and I love them but come on how many times can you document them sleeping, eating or doing those cute doggy things they do. So I thought well why can't I do really anything, even the simple things? There is nothing wrong with doing this, I can make memories about things like making ice cream, or spending a day doing nothing but reading a book, or even better about how my lovely husband patiently waits in the car while I scope out the local scrap booking store while he plays his guitar. So that's what I have decided to do, I will scrapbook about simple things that mean something to me.

Vintage Memories Using Flowers Made from Used Dryer Sheets

Preserving Memories for the Next Generation



I am not sure if it is the passing of my grandmother last week or this absolutely beautiful photo of her that got me thinking it would be nice to preserve a memory of her. So much time has passed during her life, I mean she was born 1910, she lived through World War I as a child and then depression. She married and raised her children alone during World War II with a husband overseas.

So many things were invented during this time:

Flowers Made From Dryer Sheets

Lately I have been trying new things and one of these has been reusing and recycling left over packaging soup bowls and one project I am dying to do is a coffee cup scrapbook. It amazes me what people can create using something as simple as left over dryer sheets, yes you heard it dryer sheets. Who would have thought such a beautiful thing can be created using a few simple supplies. I mean all those sheets I have "recycled" threw the year could have been turned into such a beautiful thing.

Tools and Supply

1. Recycled dryer sheets (after they have been through the dryer).
2. Glimmer mists. (I made my own using Stampin' Up Classic Ink Refills)
3. Shimmer Paint Frosted White (2 tiny scoops mixed with tap water in a Mini Mister)
4. BigShot Bigz L Die Fun Flowers from the new Occasions Mini Catalogue
5. Chunky Essentials Silver
6. Crystal Effects
7. Misc flower
8. Heat gun

Step-By-Step Instructions

Creating the Flower:

1. Using the BigShot and Fun Flowers die and your two clear cutting pads use as many sheets as you wish depending on how big or full you wish your flower to be. I did approx 6 dryer sheets and it cut perfectly.
2. Next you will want to die each flower, for mine I did two, one was using just a shimmer spray and for the other I used Bermuda Bay. Let them dry completely on paper towel. You may also use a paper towel to blot the excess liquids.
3. Next using a circle punch based on the size of the flower (I used the 1 3/4 circle punch) punch a piece of card stock (for mine I used Bermuda Bay). Using a glue gun and a small amount of glue scrunch together and glue down continue using a white then Bermuda Bay, remembering to shift each flower off side to give more depth. Using the die Fun Flowers allows you to create a complete flower, with different size pieces.
4. I then dotted the flower with crystal effects and sprinkled with Silver Chunky Essentials.
5. Last but not least I added another flower in the middle to cover the center.

Contempo Christmas Scrapbook Page

Building a Scrap Booking Page One Size at a Time

So I am trying to be a good blogger and have been working on so many projects I had to schedule one day on the weekend just for a photo shoot. I always wanted to create a progressive scrapbook page but never had the time to do this until last weekend. I have done many 12 x 12 scrapbook pages and decided to change it up. I starting by building a 6 x 6 to a 11 x 8.5 to a 12 x 12 page. Using the Contempo Christmas stamp and the Contempo Wheel from Stampin' Up I began my little adventure.

6 x 6 Page with a small area for a 4 x 6 photo.

11 x 8.5 page with message, trees, and ribbon and of course some bling! Before adding the 6 x 6.

I love adding my own messages, poems or quote to my pages it makes it more personal, I generate these on the computer, print and cut.

11 x 8.5 with 6 x 6 attached looks pretty good just with this.

Because I Care - 12 x12 Scrapbooking Swap

This coming weekend I am going to Stampin' Retreat that Kim Assaly is hosting this weekend see here. What is Riverfront Stampin' Retreat? Well first of all it is fun fun fun where we learn 24 stampin' techniques, by the riverfront view of Kim's Stampin' Studio. This retreat includes a 6×6 linen album, page protectors inserts, supplies & step by step instructions on how to create the samples. With some samples include the new in colors/color renovation & stamp sets from the preview 2010-2011 catalogue. I attended last years and I was blown away by how much I learned and how much fun I had so of course I had to attend this years retreat.
